Hi there! I'm Alex.

A tea-drinking bootstrapped developer founder who loves to travel

If I had three feet I would have one in the United Kingdom, Germany and Austria, due to heritage, upbringing, cultural fit and residence. But in reality I mostly describe myself as European and enjoy travelling around the world. I love a change in context.

I consider myself a tea-fanatic. It’s my daily driver, so I drink liters of green day every day (rebrews). My favorites are Gyokuru and Milky Oolong, no sugar, no milk.

I started reading a lot of books when I started full time traveling for a while, yes the digital nomad thing you may have heard about. Now I’m a little more settled I try to keep up with it, enjoying mostly non-fiction books but recently I’ve had a serious infusion of Japanese fiction authors.

As most developers I turned a hobby into my profession and run a small software company selling productivity software. I have worked in fields ranging from Automative, IT-Security and most recently Innovation and Startups, but decided to go out on my own a few years ago.

I’ve been blogging since before 2007, but that’s when I first created this website as a blog and while I’ve had periods where I’ve written more regularly I’ve always enjoyed writing up my thoughts and experiences or documenting something I’ve solved.

If you’d like to keep up with what I do, you can follow me on BlueSky or checkout my Now page which I update most frequently (apart from the blog maybe).
